EDWARD S. GUDEON was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1965, after graduating from Fordham University Law School in New York City. He has practised exclusively US immigration and nationality law in London since 1978 after having practised as a criminal defense attorney in New York with the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County and as a partner in the New York City firm of Cuddy, Gold & Gudeon. His expertise is in the areas of consular processing of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas, waivers of ineligibility, family-based immigration, visas for business personnel and members of the entertainment industry, maintenance of permanent resident status, and acquisition and loss of US citizenship. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Immigration Law Practitioners Association. Mr. Gudeon has been named to the International Who's Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers and was selected as one of the most highly regarded US immigration lawyers practising in England.
SUSAN WILLIS McFADDEN graduated from Stanford Law School and was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 1981. She earned a BA, magna cum laude, from Pomona College, with honours in the fields of French and German. Mrs McFadden has practised US immigration and nationality law since 1993, representing corporate and individual clients on a broad range of temporary and permanent visa issues, and continued her practice in the field after moving to London in 1998. She has published and lectured widely on a variety of topics in the fields of immigration and of US employment law and has been named to the International Who's Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers. Mrs McFadden is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, The Law Society of England & Wales (although she is not currently practicing as a solicitor), and the British-German Jurists' Association.
STEVEN D. HELLER graduated in 1991 from the Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the New York State Bar. He earned his BA from The State University of New York—Binghamton, majoring in English literature and political science. Mr Heller has practiced immigration law since 1992 in the private sector in the US and for the US Government in the US and UK. He has published articles on a wide variety of law-related topics, and is co-author of the book US Citizenship for Dummies. Mr. Heller assists in the representation of corporate and individual clients on a wide variety of immigration matters including all aspects of temporary and permanent visas.
ALISON HUMPHRIES began her career in US immigration law in 1999. She serves as the firm's paralegal and visa coordinator and as our business manager as well. Miss Humphries schedules nonimmigrant visa appointments for clients at the US Embassy, London and assists clients with the preparation of their visa application forms. She ensures that visa applications are processed efficiently and the firm runs smoothly.
Julia Iwinska
JULIA IWINSKA graduated cum laude in 2004 from Smith College with a BA in Economics and International Relations. Miss Iwinska worked as a US immigration paralegal in Washington DC before joining our paralegal staff. She works closely with our attorneys and members of staff to prepare visa petitions and applications, liaise with clients, and otherwise assist in the smooth and efficient administration of the firm. Miss Iwinska is fluent in Polish and German.
KAREN MACKINNON is the newest addition to our staff. A 2007 graduate with a BA degree, summa cum laude, from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota, she works closely with other members of staff to help assemble visa petitions, liaise with clients and assist with the firm’s administration.
